Chilli Fish Recipe
Fish - 600 grms, Boneless and skinless, Cut into cubes
Rice flour - 4 tsp
Corn flour - 4 tsp
All purpose flour - 4 tsp
Onion - 2 nos, medium, diced
Green Chilles - 4 nos, finely chopped
Green bell pepper - 2 nos, diced
Ginger - less than 1 inch, minced
Garlic cloves - 8 nos, minced
Black Pepper powder - less than ¼ tsp
Soya sauce - 1 tsp
Fish sauce - 1 tsp
Ajinomoto - ½ tsp (optional)
Red chilli powder - 1.5 tsp
Lime juice - 1 tsp
Oil - for fry
Water - 4 tsp
Green onions - 4 tsp, chopped (optional for garnish)
Salt - 1 tsp for marinade
Take fish in a large bowl, add red chilli powder, fish cubes, lime juice, rice flour, corn flour, all purpose flour and 1 tsp salt.
Sprinkle 2 tsp of water and mix well to make sure that the flours are well coated on the fish cubes. Set aside for 10 minutes.
Heat 5 tsp of oil in a skillet over medium heat when hot the oil is hot, add the marinated fish cubes to it and fry for a few minutes. Keep stirring gently, make sure that fish cubes are not messed or not stuck with the pot. When the fish are well cooked, take them out of the oil and keep aside.
In the remaining oil add 1 more tsp of oil and heat on high flame.
When the oil is hot, add the diced bell peppers, diced onions, chopped green chilles, minced ginger and garlic and stir fry for a few seconds.
Add soya sauce, fish sauce, black pepper powder, ajinomoto and salt to the skilled and stir continuously. Make sure that bell peppers should remain crispy, don’t overcook.
Now, sprinkle 4 tsp of water and mix well add the above prepared fish and chopped green onions to the skillet and mix well. Stir fry the fish until they are dry.
Your chilli fish is ready, serve hot along with rice, fried rice or noodles. Chilli fish can also be used as a good appetizer.
